Aponte
Grown in the rural areas of Aponte, Nariño by the Inga community, descendants of the pre-Hispanic Incas, the Caturra variety finds its home in this ancient land. After surviving centuries of conquest, the Inga tribe's natural refuge became a safe zone ten years ago, with coffee replacing illegal crops and a new culture arising.
This elevation, combined with the Galeras Volcano constantly shedding nutrient-rich ash, makes for an exceptionally lush land for Caturra Honey to thrive in and grow at smallholder properties. This micro lot is 100% Caturra; a variety originated in Minas Gerais, Brazil. It is a natural mutation of Red Bourbon.
Caturra Honey is a unique cup, embodying the history and culture of the Inga people that work hard to bring us this special bean.
