The Journey...Becoming La Mulita

Early Inspiration (Medellín, Colombia)

Growing up in Medellín, Colombia, coffee was a staple in my daily life. My love for coffee started early when my mom introduced me to "cafecito" (coffee with lots of milk and sugar). Over time, my appreciation evolved, and I grew passionate about high-quality Colombian coffee.

Education & Dreams (1999, New Hampshire, USA)

After graduating college, I married my high school sweetheart, Andrea, and we moved to New Hampshire to pursue our dreams. While Andrea found a career she loved, I kept searching for my true passion, always holding onto my love for Colombian coffee.

A Turning Point (2015, Boston, MA)

I attended a coffee seminar at Northeastern University, where I had the opportunity to learn from industry legend George Howell. Tasting freshly roasted Colombian specialty coffee without milk or sugar was a revelation. That moment ignited my deep dive into the world of specialty coffee.

From Hobby to Business (2016-2019, Rye, NH)

I started the Instagram account @roasterscraft to connect with coffee roasters and farmers worldwide. Soon, I was selling coffee online and experimenting with roasting in my garage. In 2019, after countless searches, I found the perfect location at 15 Sagamore Road in Rye and officially launched La Mulita Coffee.

Building La Mulita Coffee (2019-Present)

We opened our doors in 2019, only to face the challenges of a global pandemic months later. With community support and a shift to online sales, we survived and grew. Today, La Mulita Coffee is a thriving hub for high-quality Colombian coffee and meaningful connections.
